Isaac-isms…

December 31st, 2007 by ec

Isaac has a nasty rash on his boo-tay right now.

It requires a twenty dollar (!!) a pop diaper creme that’s called ”Triple Paste”.  That stuff is the consistency of the glue that I remember from elementary school…you know…the stuff that had a strange yet interesting taste to it (come on…admit it…you ate the paste too)….

Anywho…

At every diaper change, Isaac points at the jar of Triple Paste and says…

 ”that’s my feel better”.

Hmmm….I think I’m going to use that phrase too.

Milky Way Dark Candy Bars?

“that’s my feel better”.

Frozen pizza that’s slightly burnt?

“that’s my feel better”.

Cape Cod potato chips covered in Heinz ketchup?

“that’s my feel better”.

Ben & Jerry’s New York Super Fudge Chunk?

yep, that too.

What’s yours?

Hangin with the cooties….

December 30th, 2007 by ec

DSC03557

For the second Sunday in a row, the boys and I stayed home from church due to a cootie invasion.

Last week, it was Isaac with a double ear infection and fever.

This week, it was Noah’s turn to have a fever. It’s not as high as Isaac’s was, and he has a cough that Isaac didn’t have….so I guess it’s a different thing. It’s very unusual for Noah to be sick…that’s typically Isaac’s gig.

So…instead of going to church, the boys hung out on the couch together. They snuggled….(sweet, but aaaggghhhh!…stop swapping germs!..)….played and looked at pictures together.

I “went to church” via Calvary Chapel Melbourne’s webcast. Pastor Mark taught on the exact scripture in Revelation that I read in my through the Bible reading this morning…too cool.

Not the Sunday that I had in mind….I really miss being at church and I miss my church family….but it was still a blessed one. The boys were happy and enjoyed each other. Noah talked a lot. Isaac was sweet. I’m thankful….God is faithful and gave me a day of rest…even in the midst of the cootie fest.

My garage is icky….

December 29th, 2007 by ec

There are boxes EVERYWHERE.

There is lots of dust in there too as our flooring installers cut boards in there a few months ago.

I have totes….

….and totes….

…..and totes….

to go through.

I spent all afternoon in there….and it doesn’t look like I’ve done a thing.

I’m tempted to leave our garage door open all night tonight, but I have this nagging fear that no one else wants my stuff and that it would all still be there in the morning.

How disappointing that would be.

So….it’s break time for today.  Doug is doing the late schedule thingy, so the boys and I will stay in and watch football tonight.   I’ll get back in the garage Monday morning and keep plugging away until it’s done.

It will be nice to be able to park in there again.

All over the place…

December 28th, 2007 by ec

So….here’s what’s up….in no particular order….I’ve got a major case of ADHD today….

We asked the ebay seller of Doug’s Mini Cooper to keep an eye out for a car for me too.  He called Doug yesterday and has a really good lead already…a 2004 Scion XB.  Yes….that is what I want.  I love, love, love them.  Not the new ones…those look way too much like Chevy HHRs….the first generation, please.  I drove one last year and did not stop smiling for the entire test drive.  They are great cars as Scion = Toyota.  Great gas mileage too.   Yep….that’s what I want.  Stay tuned….

I started cleaning out our garage this afternoon.  It was VERY SCARY.

I still haven’t finished my Christmas cards.

I registered our church leadership team for the Calvary Chapel Southeast Pastor’s Conference, which is in three weeks.  I can’t wait.

I still haven’t booked our hotel rooms.  This could be a bad thing.

I had to go to our local petri dish pediatrician’s office today to pick up copies of Isaac’s medical records.  He has his first appointment with a DAN doctor in a few weeks and I need to start getting his files ready.  More on that another day.

Doug’s group is working the “extra magic” hours at the Studios tomorrow night.  In what is a new thing for them, they are performing sans Beauty and the Beast.  Disney has them all gussied up in tuxedos and they are all by themselves at the Theatre of the Stars.  Their sets are 30 minutes long….and are all LATE…the last one is at 10:45 tomorrow night.  I wish that I could see the shows (I really just want to see my honey in a tux)…but we are in a pass block- out time right now, so that won’t be happening.

Kris and Dana sold their house.  Insert a happy dance here and a big time Praise the Lord.  It happened the day after Christmas.  After like eight months on the market and LOTS of prayer, how’s that for a Christmas gift?

Well….that’s it for now.  Perhaps a bit more focus will come with a good night’s sleep.  Or not.

So THAT’s what 90 MPH feels like….

December 27th, 2007 by ec

Well…unless the engine blows up tomorrow….and it certainly doesn’t seem like it will…our Ebay car buying experience was a rousing success.

Doug’s new Mini Cooper is soooooo cute.  He would never call it that….but it’s just. plain. cute.  And it is F-U-N to drive.  I drove it about 1/3 of the way home from Jacksonville.

At one point I looked at the speedometer and I was going ninety.

OH. MY.

I seriously had NO idea.  I haven’t been in a car going that fast since (don’t read this Mommy and Daddy) high school when one of my best friend’s dad gave him a Camero and we took it out on a back road to see how fast it would go.

If I tried to drive my car that fast??…well….there would be a whole lot of shakin goin on.

Anywho….

The car has the expected bumps and bruises that you get on a five year old car….but it really is in great shape and has a lot of miles left in it.

….And Doug loves it.  I am so happy that he has something nice and fun to drive.   It’s gonna be a great date night car.

We’ll just have to keep a close eye on that speedometer.
