Hi! My name is Lisa and here’s some stuff about me:

1. I’m married…16 years…and he rocks.

2. His name is Doug and he’s a pastor.

3. That makes me a pastor’s wife.

4. I NEVER wanted to be a pastor’s wife.

5. God has a great sense of humor.

6. My son Isaac’s name means “he will laugh” or “laughter”.

7. We named him this because he was born during Hurricane Frances and I spent most of the time I was pushing him out (with the help of drugs, of course) laughing my head off at our ridiculous situation.

8. My son Noah’s name means “rest”.

9. I named this blog in his honor.

10. Noah has autism.

11. I’m learning to find rest…even in that.

12. I get to stay home with my kids.

13. I’ve never eaten a bon-bon in my life…although I do consume a fair amount of Milky Way Dark candy bars.

14. My husband is a tentmaker. That means he works a full-time job to support his ministry.  UPDATE:  October 2008…My husband is now on staff at the church part-time.  He picks up gigs on the side.

15. God gave him the coolest tentmaking job EVER. He gets to sing 5 days a week for thousands of people a day at a fairly well known theme park.  UPDATE:  September 2008…Doug used to sing at Disneyworld full-time.  After 14 years in the A-Capella group “Four For a Dollar”, Disney closed his show and Doug’s 19 years as a Disney musician ended (he was a saxophone player there before his singing gig started).  It was a great run and we’re grateful for all the years that he had there.

16. This job works out great for me as I can get into said theme park pretty much whenever I want to.  UPDATE:  October 2008.  No more Silver Pass to Disney.  Doug is still an employee, however, and we do have a pass that will get us in 6 times per year.  We’ll take it!

17. I LOVE roller coasters. Top 3 as of today: SheiKra at Busch Gardens, The Beast at King’s Island and Hulk at Islands of Adventure.

18. I almost threw up after riding the carousel at Disneyland.

19. I LOVE our church.

20. We are surrounded by the most loving, fun and genuine group of Christians that we have ever been privileged to know.

21. They know that I am a LOON and love me anyway.

This is me and Noah at Disneyland in May 2007.  I posted this because I’m practicing adding pictures to posts.  I’m not sure that I have it down yet, but I’m working on it.
